More schools, more knowledge! This year's Job Workshop
What does it really mean to work in finance, logistics or maintenance? Showing, not just telling. Once again. The third edition of the Job Workshop was definitely special - we hosted 269 students from 4 schools in 9 days of workshops! Our aim, as in previous years, was to simulate real tasks and inspire young people to grow.
Our Job Workshop programme in the previous editions has shown that there is a huge interest in vocational training and practical learning. In response to this enthusiasm, we expanded the workshop format this year, with as many as four colleges accepting the invitation to come to us this autumn:
- The Maria Skłodowska-Curie school complex in Kostrzyn nad Odrą,
- The no. 1 Juliusz Słowacki school complex in Dębno,
- The school complex of the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Educational Association in Dębno,
- The Agricultural Training Centre school complex in Kamień Mały.
For nine intensive days, 269 final year students from secondary and vocational schools had the opportunity to cut their teeth on against the tasks our professionals face on a daily basis. The workshops covered five key sections: Finance, Safety, Production, Logistics, and Maintenance.
The team competition formula proved to be a success once again. Working in a safe environment under the guidance of our experts, the students showed great commitment. It was not only an opportunity for them to test their skills, but also to talk directly with our employees about career paths and the reality of working in manufacturing.
As per tradition, there were prizes for the best teams and a delicious pizza, a certificate and corporate gifts for all.
In our eyes, the positive reception and energy that the young people have shown are all the proof we need that the Job Workshop programme deserves a permanent place in our calendar. See you next year!
The new EU Bioeconomy Strategy also highlights the Tissue sector
The European Commission has just presented the updated EU Bioeconomy Strategy, unveiled by Commissioner Jessika Roswall in a room filled with bio-based innovations of every kind. And our tissue products were right there, proudly representing our sector in Europe’s bio-based future.
This is a moment to celebrate. Not because tissue received special attention, but because we are now clearly part of the EU’s vision for the bioeconomy — a strong signal of recognition for the contribution our sector can bring to a more sustainable Europe.
A promising step forward and an additional motivation to keep engaging, innovating, and ensuring that the tissue sector remains actively involved as Europe shapes its bio-based transition.
Bioeconomy in action. Tissue included.
ISO 50001 certification obtained by the Piano della Rocca paper mill
ICT shows its commitment to efficient energy use with the implementation of the ISO 50001:2018 energy management system. To confirm this, we are proud to announce that the Piano della Rocca paper mill has recently passed the energy management system audit carried out by the SGS certification committee.
The ISO 50001 certificate of compliance is now available in the Sustainability section of our website. Furthermore, we are keeping up our efforts to extend this certification to the other ICT S.p.A's plants.
ICT Group obtains SBTi validation for its emissions reduction targets
We are proud to announce that ICT GROUP greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) revision committee.
SBTi is an international organization that validates and approves companies’ emissions-reduction targets, ensuring they are science-based and aligned with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming.
In particular our near-term target commits us to reducing our absolute GHG emissions across our operations (from 2020 base year):
- Scope 1 and 2 → - 42% by 2030
- Scope 3 → - 35% by 2034
We now use half the water to produce the same amount of paper.
Since 2015, ICT Ibérica's Production, Water Treatment and Maintenance teams have launched the Hydro-efficiency Project with an ambitious challenge: to produce paper while consuming less water and minimising our environmental impact. This objective has been successfully achieved thanks to joint efforts.
Over the past 10 years, water consumption has been reduced by 55%. Savings equivalent to the annual consumption of 71,000 households have also been achieved, and discharges have been reduced by 60%, improving water quality with a reduction of up to 70% in pollutant parameters.
To achieve these results, technologies were implemented that enable water reuse, and a continuous improvement plan was designed to optimise processes and reduce waste.
Thanks to these initiatives, we demonstrate our commitment to caring for the environment and sustainability, moving towards a more responsible future that respects the natural resources we all share.
15th October – Global Handwashing Day
Have you ever stopped to think about the importance of washing and drying your hands properly?
Proper hand hygiene can help prevent various types of infections and diseases!
Here is a quick refresher on how to do it properly, using tissue paper.
European Tissue Symposium, thank you for the reminder.
Employees have their say: ICT Poland grows together with its people.
ICT Poland conducted an employee satisfaction survey with the aim of identifying areas that influence employee satisfaction and indicating potential directions for development or changes to be introduced.
The ICT Poland job satisfaction survey questionnaire included both an assessment of specific work-related aspects and open-ended questions, allowing employees to freely express their opinions on topics they considered relevant.
The survey results indicate that the overall level of job satisfaction is significantly higher than the national average and the average for manufacturing companies.
The highest scores were given to working conditions and tools, internal communication and the company's image as an employer.
It is worth noting that the survey involved the entire organisation across the board, and its format allowed participants to provide not only numerical ratings but also personal reflections. This made it possible to gather a wealth of feedback.
We would like to thank all participants for their participation and commitment; every opinion is important for our development.
A look back at a memorable day at ICT France!
On September 13, ICT France had the pleasure of organizing a Family Day, a warm and festive moment dedicated to employees and their families.
On the program:
- Factory tour
- Makeup stands, children's games and carousel
- Candy bar, pancakes and cotton candy for those with a sweet tooth
Smiles, good humor and a friendly atmosphere punctuated this beautiful day!
Advancing the circular economy with the donation of reverse osmosis membranes
At ICT, we remain committed to the circular economy through concrete actions. For this reason, we have donated the reverse osmosis membranes to Ecomemb for regeneration and reuse, thus avoiding their disposal in landfill.
Reverse osmosis membranes are essential filters in water treatment, removing mineral salts and bacteria to obtain the highest quality water for tissue paper manufacturing. When they are no longer functional, instead of throwing them away, they can now have a second useful life.
Thanks to this initiative, we managed to reduce CO₂ emissions by 4,628 kg —associated with the manufacture and transport of new membranes— and prevented the generation of 810 kg of plastic waste. In doing so, we minimise our environmental impact and reaffirm our commitment to environmental management.
ICT Group's 2024 Consolidated Annual Report
It is with great satisfaction that we announce that the ICT Group's 2024 Consolidated Annual Report brochure is now available, attesting to the ever-increasing growth of our group.
Special thanks go to all the people of the ICT Group who, inspired by the company values and with great teamwork, face and manage the continuous challenges on a daily basis in order to achieve the company goals.
