Greater efficiency for the Europaper plant
The revamp of the paper machine PM5 continues at the Europaper facility in Monzone. After installing the new pulping system in 2015, the replacement of the blower hoods and its air system is scheduled for August. The new hoods, supplied by a one of the market leader, , wraps the Yankee dryer, blows hot air against the sheet of paper and promotes evaporation of the water contained. This investment will make it possible to reduce energy consumption and to increase daily output of the paper machine.

Cardio-protected company
Since the 8th of February, ICT Ibérica has become part of the Lifeguard Project and has been integrated into the Network of Cardio-Protected Companies of Aragon. In order to improve medical care for our workers, three defibrillators (Expedition Building, Converting Zone and Paper Mill Zone) have been installed to reduce the intervention time. In addition, 30 workers have been trained in basic first aid (Basic Life Support) and the necessary skills to be able to carry out the first care of cardiac arrest until the arrival of the specialized teams. In this way we have 2 people trained per shift and zone. The defibrillators are semi-automatic and, in case of emergency, could be used by anyone, as a voice guides you at all times and will not perform the shock if you are not in cardiac arrest. The initiative was very well received by all staff and has aroused interest in first aid among many workers.
ICT Group remains committed to sustainability and environmental protection
After starting up the two vacuum generating systems at the paper mills in Italy, a third one was installed at the ICT Poland plant. The new vacuum generating system for PM11 consists of two blowers, two hydraulic separators and two flow meters for drainage control. It saves between 30 and 70% of energy and does not consume any water, unlike traditional vacuum systems. Thanks to the efficient heat recovery systems located on the exhaust of the blowers, the process water taken from the river can be heated, thus further reducing energy consumption. The system is clearly one of the best solutions in terms of energy saving and reliability.

“Nowicjusz”: the new onboarding programme at ICT Poland
The new onboarding programme “Nowicjusz” is getting positive feedback. It is a well thought-out programme to efficiently and effectively integrate new recruits into ICT Poland. During this phase, initial training courses are held covering various areas, such as safety, on-the-job training, quality, GDPR, lean manufacturing and organisational culture. The programme also includes a visit to the entire factory. It is important to us that new recruits know that we support them: we want to give them the best possible welcome. During the first four days of work, all relevant information about our organisation and the specific job position is systematically acquired.
